Bat and Bird Boxes

We can make bat and bird boxes to the specification of the Wildlife Trusts.

And we can site them safely. Some species of bat such as noctules prefer roots at least 5 metres off the ground. Bird boxes should be sighted high to discourage predators. Many commercially produced bird boxes are built to look nice rather than be functional. We can make a Blue tit bird box with a 28mm entrance, It is important not to have a perch as this can encourage other birds to intimidate the parents, or we can produce a general bird box.
