How to choose a Tree Surgeon?

The following characteristics describe a company that would be considered suitable for carrying out tree works.
  •  A reputable tree surgeon should be able to respond positively to any questions about the following issues.
  • Will have insurance cover (recommended minimum £10 million) for Public Liability and be prepared to provide evidence of this if requested. 
  •  Will carry out works to British Standard BS3998 and be knowledgeable about the latest research and methods of good Arboricultural practice.
  •  Will have two qualified climbers on-site as per legal requirements
  •  Will have certificates to prove that climbers are competent in using chainsaws from rope and harness and rigging.
  •  Will remove all waste from the site unless requested by the client.
  •  Will wear the appropriate PPE and follow HSE guidelines regarding Arboricultural works.
